We are pleased to announce that all proceeds from this year's tournament will be directed towards a new initiative called the "Family Preservation Program".
Frank Foundation Child Assistance International (FFCAI) recently announced the “Family Preservation Program” - a unique initiative
which strives to prevent a child from becoming an orphan in the first place through the provision of small grants which aim to
keep the family unit intact.
Current statistics report that there are over 700,000 orphans in Russia. As many as 90% of the children in the orphanages have
parents who have placed the children into the orphanage system as wards of the state but they have not relinquished their parental
rights. For these children, their future means a life institutionalized.
As the numbers continues to grow at an alarming rate, Frank Foundation Child Assistance International (FFCAI) increases its efforts
to battle this problem. Over the years, FFCAI has brought aid to tens of thousands of orphans throughout the former Soviet Union.
We realize this is not enough.
A successful pilot program was launched in January this year in Kazakhstan where the mothers of 50 children avoided crisis and began
making the first steps towards improving their overall situation to build better lives for their future. Phase II initiative is a
result of a fundraiser held at Stoneleigh Golf Course in Round Hill, VA. The monies raised have already helped 3 families by providing
small grants to assist with medical expenses, child care and basic living expenses. Another 5 families are scheduled to receive aid this
summer.
The 2006 "Fore the Children" Annual Golf Classic is dedicated to raising funds to preserve 50 additional targeted families, thereby preventing
at least 70 children from entering the orphanage system.
The next initiative is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2006 utilizing the funds raised from this tournament. Your support
will make a tremendous difference in the lives of children who deserve every happiness in life.
100% of the proceeds of the tournament will be directed towards this Family Preservation Program.
